Undiscovered Alps specialise in adventure and activity holidays in a little known corner of the Southern French Alps.
It is a beautiful region with unrivalled scenery and wildlife, a huge variety of activities and the authentic charm of a traditional French alpine valley that has still managed to escape the wave of modern commercialisation.
My name is Sally Guillaume and I am the owner and director of Undiscovered Alps.
I set up Undiscovered Alps in 2005 after years of holidays in France, a dream to spend more time here, eventually finding this beautiful little corner of the Alps and falling in love with it.
I have lived here for 6 years now and in that time have learned French, walked, skied, biked and adventured all over the area.
To complete the picture… on one very memorable trip with clients to Les Rouies (a summit in the Ecrins), Bernard, a local UIAGM high mountain guide, and I fell in love and now work together on Undiscovered Alps!
In addition to mountains, Bernard’s passion is wildlife, in particular wolves and he has spent the last 20 years following the colonisation of wolves in the Southern Alps.
Between us, our discoveries, explorations and adventures have given us a unique insight into this beautiful corner of the Alps: the wildlife that lives here, the activities you can do, and the best places to stay to experience it all.
This blog is the perfect opportunity for us to share our passion about this area and what it has to offer.
I’ll be writing it along with the rest of the Undiscovered Alps team to share our news, travel tips, client and staff adventures and any other interesting thoughts that come our way!
Please have a read, leave your comments and get involved in the discussions – we love to hear your views!
